An amazing amount has been raised so far in memory of Luke.  A big thank you to family, friends and everyone who has been involved and for your kind donations and we hope to continue to raise more funds to help children just like Luke.

On Luke's special day we kindly asked for people to make donations in lieu of flowers and also collection tins were available throughout the day. The total raised on the day came to a whopping £974.50!! 

Oakfiled primary school decided to arrange an event on Luke's special day by asking children to dress in bright colours to remember Luke, also a raffle was arranged by the parent teacher association. Children, parents and staff made very generous donations and raised a wonderful £562!!

Luke's best friend Harvey and his family, his mum Allison, dad Steve and brother Lincoln arranged and took part in a fun run and raised an impressive £200!!

Family members employer's also had collections amongst themselves, Burlingtons New I.D Cardiff salon raised £100, another £100 was raised by Harper Collins publishers London office which also led to a donation from CreativeArtistsAgency foundation from Los Angeles, who are the agents for Justin Bieber. Parnhams coaches from Wiltshire also collected £80. All fabulous amounts from staff and employers.

The money raised was split between a few charities/hospitals, these include Little Hearts Matter, Make a Wish Foundation, children's cardiac unit (heulwen ward) at UHW Cardiff. We also purchased an Ipad for the children on heulwen ward along with numerous toys for the wards toy room. The money raised by Luke's best friend harvey and family is being used towards Luke's headstone as this was their wish, Special thanks.

There are currently fundraising pages setup through the just giving website to help children with congenital heart disease and the nominated charity is Little Hearts Matter www.lhm.org.uk

This was set up by Luke's nan Mandi and shared around Twitter and Facebook. People have shown great support by retweeting and sharing the link on Facebook. We did not expect such amazing success, with donations so far totalling £1172!! and counting.   

 

A family member arranged to take part in the Blenheim triathlon on the 10th of June 2012 in Oxford. He set up another just giving page in memory of Luke. He did extremely well and completed the triathlon in 1hr 34min, well done Dave. As it stands the total raised is £1205 and counting. 

 

Luke’s Aunty Vicci ran the London Marathon on the 21st of April 2013 to raise funds for the children’s cardiac unit (Heulwen Ward) at the University Hospital of Wales. She had chosen to carry out Luke’s wish as he always wanted to help others just like him. She has raised a whopping £2060!! A just giving charity page has been setup with donations going directly to the Cardiff and Vale Health charity who administer the funds for the hospital. We ask that if possible you kindly make a donation of any amount and spread the word around. Your help is greatly appreciated and will be of great help to all of the children who have to deal with going into hospital because of their heart conditions. Another family member Joanna Valentine also ran the London marathon and the Paris marathon for Luke just weeks apart and raised an amazing £1014.44 the link to her just giving page is below
