We have decided to create TEAM LUKE and take part in the Cardiff half marathon on Sunday 4th of October 2015 in memory of Luke and to help this wonderful charity to grant more magical wishes to children with life threating conditions. Luke was granted a make a wish dream, he chose to go on the Disney cruise around the Mediterranean, we had the most amazing time and have so many special memories, we cannot thank make a wish enough. We now want to give something back so they can make more children's dreams come true. Team Luke consists of myself Faye Valentine, Mandi Valentine, Paul Valentine, Vicci Valentine, Shawn Eastman, Sophie Jenkins, Sophie Griffiths, Claire Morris, Carl Morris, Ross Newman, Jemma Muggeridge, Ann-Maire Dummett, Nicola Carbis, and Catherine Bailey. I would like to thank the above people for becoming TEAM LUKE and helping to raise money and awareness of this fantastic charity.
We have won the top donation of £1000!! Thank you to Starbucks and Neighbourly.com
Thank you so much to everyone who supported us in the Starbucks Xmas challenge as we have won the £1000 donation to go to the Children’s Cardiac unit (Heulwen ward) at the University Hospital of Wales. The funds will help children and families who use the service at the Hospital.
This year will be Luke's 10th birthday anniversary so we have decided to hold another charity evening on Saturday 29th November. All tickets have sold out and we are expecting another successful night.
We are holding it once again in the beautiful Crystal suite at the lovely Peterstone Lakes Golf Club (www.peterstonelakes.com)
This year we have chosen a hog roast for dining along with a hypnotist, music and entertainment, champagne reception and a balloon release for Luke and for other children who have passed away from heart disease.
We have been very lucky to receive many donations of prizes to be used in our raffle and auction and will post details of the contributors shortly.
Once again the funds raised this year will go towards Luke's dedicated charity fund administered by the Cardiff and Vale Health Charity (http://www.cardiffandvaleuhbcharity.org/) which is being used to help children who use the children's cardiac unit at the University Hospital of Wales (Heulwen ward) Some of the proceeds from this year will be used to purchase new toys/games for the children and their families whilst on the ward as we all know hospitals can become very boring especially with long stays
